Luke Combs Set to Make First 'Saturday Night Live' Appearance

JJ Watt to host the show on Feb. 1

It’s another first for Luke Combs. The “Beer Never Broke My Heart” singer is bringing the country to “Saturday Night Live.”

Combs will be the musical guest on an episode hosted by NFL star JJ Watt on February 1st.

The North Carolina native is actually a perfect match for the bright lights of New York City. We know because he told us back in November.

"I've always been enamored with New York. I didn't grow up necessarily in the sticks, but I grew up in a middle-class suburb of Asheville, NC which is a very small city,” Combs said.

“So, I remember one of the first times I came (to New York) was when I was in High School," he continued. "I was in the tenth grade and I came (to New York) on a high school chorus trip and we stayed really close to Times Square... just a very touristy view of New York. But I've always appreciated, there's like this freedom to being here which I feel like I can't get in other places now."

Combs’ sophomore album What You See is What You Get was released in November and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 as well as the Top Country Albums chart.
