You Can Now Buy Used Clothes Online at Walmart

May 28, 2020

Walmart is known for its low-cost basics, but now, the retail giant is selling used goods online.

Walmart has partnered with resale site Thredup and is offering used clothes, shoes, handbags and other accessories. Thredup is a retailer that gets its inventory from members who send in their clothes that they no longer wear.

The company buys clothes they can resell and donates the items they can't use.

Close to 750,000 used items are being offered by Walmart. The deal will give Walmart access to the growing market of fashion resale.

Thredup has previously made similar deals with JC Penney and Macy's.

Taking on used items means Walmart will have access to secondhand goods from brands like Coach, Michael Kors, Zara, and many more for a fraction of the initial cost of the items.

"This partnership is our latest move to establish as a destination for fashion," Denise Incandela, head of fashion for Walmart US, said in a statement.

And if you don't like what you purchased, you can return it to your local Walmart store.
