Wilmer Valderrama Gives 'NCIS' Fans an Important Update About Season 18

September 14, 2020

Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs and his team will be back on the job solving cases again soon.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, production for "NCIS" season 17 had to stop in March, reported Good HouseKeeping. Fans were promised 24 episodes for season 17, but the deadly virus left fans short four episodes.

The pandemic delayed the show’s filming schedule, and new episodes of the famous crime show will probably air in November at the earliest.

Wilmer Valderrama, who plays Nick, posted a screenshot of the cast and crew doing their first Zoom table read of Season 18.

"In many ways it feels like we, the cast and crew of our @ncis_cbs family.. are like astronauts embarking into the learning curb of a whole new world and reality.. here’s to a smooth lift off," he wrote on Instagram.

As production is expected to begin on September 9, cast members of the show shared that they are ready to return. Sean Murray, who plays Special Agent Timothy McGee, and Diona Reasonover, who plays Kasie Hines, also shared photos to Instagram.

Speaking of Valderrama sharing great news, the actor posted in January that he got down on one knee for model girlfriend Amanda Pacheco on New Year’s Day. The photo shows the couple in the moment in front of a beautiful ocean backdrop.

"NCIS," season 18 will air on CBS, but no word yet on the exact date.
