Although this is not how any senior, college or high school, imagined their last few months of school looking, the country has stepped up to ensure all their accomplishments are being applauded and they receive the recognition they deserve by holding virtual graduations with celebrity guests speakers.

One such virtual graduation, Graduate Together: America Honors the High School Class of 2020, was aired on multiple major television networks on Saturday, May 16, and former president and Chicago native, Barack Obama, delivered the commencement address.

He offered his thoughts on how the future generation can rise to the challenge and while this pandemic has forced many to grow up a little earlier than expected, with that responsibility will come the chance to start creating meaningful change.

Obama ended the speech congratulating the coronavirus class of 2020 and telling them he personally is so proud of all they have enured and how they have remained positive and hopeful for the future.
