Lee Brice and Carly Pearce Team Up For a Heart Break Duet

'I Hope You're Happy Now'

September 27, 2019

Our next New Country Night Out performer Lee Brice and Carly Pearce, who will actually be in Tinley Park tonight, teamed up for a brand new song! (and Spoiler: It's a sad JAM)

'I Hope You're Happy Now' is a classic country heartbreak duet with a good 90s feel.

Pearce co-wrote the song with the incredible Luke Combs and wanted to recreate those classic 90s duets that she grew up on like Reba McEntire/Brooks and Dunn and Tim McGraw/Faith Hill. Pearce said she wanted to write one of those songs that used to 'wreck her' when she was little. We all know those songs, the ones that make you stop and long for a lost love and then start tearing up out of nowhere. AND that is exactly what this new song does! (Or maybe just for me...?)

Brice, on the other hand, received a text asking if he wanted to record a duet with Pearce and for him, it was a no brainer. He heard the original track with Combs on it and instantly fell in love with the classic heartbreak style. Pearce wanted the demo ASAP, so Brice ended up recording it in his mobile studio while on tour!

And we are so glad that he did! The song is amazing and we hope to hear this live soon!

It’s out, y’all! #IHopeYoureHappyNow #LinkInBio
