The first day of kindergarten is a big moment not only in a child's life, but for their parents as well. Some parents even try to take off work in order to see their kids walk through those doors and wish them luck!

One kindergartener in Missouri had one of the coolest first day send-offs.

Carmine Matteline's dad, a police officer, unfortunately, has been hospitalized for weeks fighting esophageal and stomach cancer. He wanted to be there for his son, but due to the circumstances could not, so his fellow officers stepped up big time!

More than 20 police officers from at least 10 departments gathered outside Carmine's home to walk him to kindergarten! Other neighbors and friends lined up on the street as well to give him a standing ovation and cheer him on!

One officer said, "We’re friends but we’re family also. We want to do whatever we can to again make this day special for him and his family.”

At the last minute Carmine's dad, Andy, was given the green light to leave the hospital and take part in this special day!

“This is one of the biggest days and I didn’t want to miss this. He means the world to me. We’ve been through a lot together,” Andy said.

Not only did he get a police escort, but then his dad ended up being there as well! This is a great representation of a #GoodVibes story as we all had chills in the studio when we first heard it.
