It's Happening! Taylor Swift Is Planning on Re-Recording Her First Six Albums!

August 22, 2019

Taylor Swift's seventh studio album, Lover, drops tomorrow, August 23rd, but the superstar also just released some other VERY exciting news!

She will officially be re-recording her first six studio albums!

You might be wondering why she would do this or why this is even a big deal, but for hardcore Swifties, this is HUGE.

Earlier this summer Swift made headlines when her old record label, Big Machine, was sold to Scooter Braun's Ithaca Holdings for $300 million and she was very vocal about his displeasure. She spoke out that she did not have a fair chance to own her music masters, meaning Big Machine will still be able to make money off of her music, even though she is now signed to Universal Music Group.

Big Machine's Scott Borchetta disputed Swift's remarks saying the label gave her an opportunity to re-sign, which would allow her to own her master recordings.

Regardless of what actually happened, Swift did lose out on her masters with the selling of the label so she decided to take matters into her own hands!

She will be re-recording her first six albums including her self-titled debut album, Taylor Swift, then her follow-up smashes, Fearless, Speak Now, Red, 1989, and her latest album, Reputation

Fans are so excited about these new recordings because not only will Swift earn the money that she deserves, but now she will be releasing old tracks with new and more mature vocals! I wonder if songs from her first album will sound totally different? Hmm...

All I'm saying is since she is re-recording Red anyway, she might as well give us the full 10-minute version of her fan-favorite 'All Too Well' that we want! (Please)
