Ross Ellis already has a connection to Chicago's hottest country music festival because he has opened for current LakeShake artists Brett Young and Mitchell Tenpenny and also last year's artist Raelynn. He will be hitting the Next From Nashville Stage on Saturday, June 22nd and here are 4 things you need to know about him! 

1. Ellis co-wrote Tim McGraw's smash hit 'Neon Church'.

2. At age 15 he formed a band, and after college he left his hometown in Louisiana to travel to Nashville. 

3. While in Nashville he roomed with another up and coming country artist, Jameson Rodgers.

4. Ellis wrote a song titled 'Ghosts' and Jay DeMarcus from Rascal Flatts wanted the band to record it, but Ellis decided to keep it for himself.
