Guitar, singing, duet

Penn Pennington has been a fixture on the Nashville music scene for more than 30 years playing in many downtown bars and even playing at the Grand Ole Opry for 23 years.

Unfortunately, Pennington is currently in a Nashville hospital bed, undergoing treatment for a non-Hodgkin’s double-hit lymphoma diagnosis.

The oncology nurse that admitted him, 24-year-old Alex Collazo, could tell that Pennington has been feeling depressed lately and was struggling during his chemotherapy sessions, so she decided to bring in a guitar to cheer him up.

Collazo also used to be a musician while growing up, so she asked Pennington to sing some duets with her.

The pair sang “Can’t Help Falling in Love” first before Pennington asked Collazo if she knew any Christmas songs and they sang "Oh Holy Night" together.

Pennington's daughter recorded the special moment and the video has now been viewed over 4,000 times on Facebook. His daughter went on the explain, "Music is such a wonderful healer. I was completely, totally moved by this.”

The heartwarming duet is sending a powerful message of hope for the holiday season. #GoodVibes
