Normally candy is not welcome at a dentist's office, but during Halloween, Rockside Family Dental Care in Ohio makes an exception.

Even though the practice obviously preaches healthy teeth, they decided a few years ago to do something amazing for the kids around the candy-filled holiday.  For a few days in November, the dental office rewards its patients for handing over their excess Halloween candy.

If a kid comes in with their costume on they receive $2 a pound up to 5 pounds.  If they are not in costume they will only receive $1 per pound.

Some of the candy is then donated to 'Operation Gratitude,' a program that packs up and sends care packages to our service members currently deployed overseas. They send packages to nearly 200,000 troops every year! The CEO of Operation Gratitude says there is nothing better for service members than receiving care packages and handwritten letters from kids back in the states.

The rest of the candy then goes to local first responders such as police officers, firefighters, and EMTs, who then turn around and hand out the candy to kids in underprivileged communities who didn't have the opportunity to go out on Halloween.

It's awesome that the dental practice is donating Halloween candy to the heroes that help our nation every single day. They deserve a treat! #GoodVibes
