An exciting part of one's childhood is losing a tooth and then getting a visit from the Tooth Fairy, which explains why a first grader was so distraught when he lost his on the playground.

While playing 'ga-ga ball' at Gillett Elementary school during recess, the first-grader realized that his loose tooth had disappeared! He thought he swallowed it or it fell on the ground, but one thing he knew for sure was that is was definitely lost.

Teachers and staff rallied together and scoured the playground in hopes of finding the boy's missing tooth but to no avail. The first-grader was so determined, though, that he approached the principal, Curt Angeli, enlisting his help as well.

After seeing how distraught the boy was, Angeli decided to write a letter to the Tooth Fary explaining the situation and asking for a pardon.

The note read: “Dear Tooth Fairy: Today, [my student] lost a tooth while playing outside at recess. Unfortunately, it was lost in our ga-ga pit, and despite the valiant efforts of an intrepid search team, we were unable to recover the tooth. As a trained principal and hobby dentist, I can verify that there is definitely a gap in [the student’s] teeth that was not there this morning when he came in. Please accept this letter as official verification of a lost tooth and provide the standard monetary exchange rate you normally use for a real tooth.”

A photo of the letter was then posted by one of the Gillett Elementary teachers and has since been shared hundreds of times praising the principal for going above and beyond to help a distressed student. #GoodVibes
