'What's Up Chicago?!' bring you all the local breaking news.

There's a new version of The Office coming, but it's aimed at a younger generation.

  • The Office is getting a children's book - The Office, A Day at Dunder Mifflin Elementary.
  • It has all the characters you know and love, Pam, Jim, Dwight Shrute, Michael Scott and more...
  • The students spend the day in Ms. Levinson's class (yes, as in Jan) brainstorming in a meeting, planning and attending a party, and working together to make the perfect line.
  • The story sets out to teach kids the importance of teamwork and that it's always okay to ask for help.

Today is Ash Wednesday, which marks the first day of Lent — and will last for the next about six weeks.

  • You'll see lots of Catholics walking around with ash crosses on their forehead.
  • We know meat is forbidden on Friday during Lent, but the big question this year is "with the explosion of plant-based meats, is it okay to eat that in place of animal-based meat?"
  • Religious leaders say technically, yes. The fake meat products are made with soy, pea, and bean protein no meat at all. Others say believers would be better served if they focused less on rules and giving up things, and more on finding ways to live a better life.

The coronavirus outbreak continues to spread across the world, with alarming spikes this week in Europe and the Middle East.

  • In Asia, attention is focused on South Korea, where the number of cases has jumped to more than 1,200.
  • The first US soldier has become infected:  the 23-year-old soldier is stationed in South Korea and is being isolated and monitored on a military base there while officials are trying to figure out who he came into contact with.
  • The death toll from the coronavirus is over 2,700 worldwide, and there have been more than 80,000 global cases.

In Sports:

  • Blues beat the Blackhawks 6-5 last night
  • The bulls winning streak of 1 is over, they lost to the Thunder last night 122-124
