Just announced, Demi Lovato will perform the National Anthem at the Super Bowl!

  • The game is Sunday, February 2nd in Miami.​
  • Previously announced, Jennifer Lopez and Shakira will headline the halftime show.
  • Talk about an amazing ALL FEMALE line up!

The Women’s March Chicago is downtown tomorrow starting at 9 AM in Grant Park and stepping off at 11 a.m. 

  • The five issues they plan on focusing on: The 2020 Census, climate justice, gun violence prevention, health care access, and the November election. 
  • The March will be led by Mayor Lori Lightfoot and will conclude at Federal Plaza.

Major League Baseball just named its first female coach!

  •  Alyssa Nakken was named an assistant under San Francisco Giants manager Gabe Kapler. 
  • She is a former softball star at first base for Sacramento State and joined the club in 2014 as an intern in baseball operations.

  • It may help health officials stop the flu from spreading, too. 
  • Researchers say when a person has the flu, their heart rate tends to rise and their sleep patterns change, and now our fit bits can use that data to predict the flu or any infectious disease in real-time.

  • You know our nicknames for Chicago: Windy City and Chi-Town, except literally no one from here, calls it Chi-Town...Not one person.
  • Hollywood was in 1st place with Hollyweird, Dallas the Big D, the runner-up San Francisco with Frisco & San Fran, the last of the Top 5 is Boston with Beantown
  • Chicago did not make the list but Chi-Town should have.
  • New Orleans the Big Easy, Hot Lanta ​for Atlanta

  • Bulls are in action tonight on the road in Philly to take on the Sixers
  • The 35th annual Cubs Convention will take place this weekend at The Sheraton Grand Chicago with some events at the Loews. 
    • Almost every current player will be there and some big names from the past including Andre Dawson, Kerry Wood, Ryne Samburg, Ryan Dempster, and Carlos Zambrano.
