According to a new study, the general duties associated with parenting burn up to 1,500 calories a day.

  • That roughly equates to nearly 43,000 burpees a month!
  • Every day calorie burners include carrying small children, standing, dressing, bathing, feeding, cooking, cleaning, playing, laundry, making beds, groceries, pushing a stroller and more...

Cross-country runners from the Chicago Public Schools have the go-ahead to compete in this weekend's state finals.

  • The IHSA wants to bar these athletes from competing at state because they didn't compete at regionals.
  • BUT they couldn't compete at regionals because of the recent teachers’ strike.
  • The judges will rule on the IHSA court filing, but not until next week, after the state meet.

The former Los Angeles Police Chief is expected to be named Chicago's interim police superintendent by mayor Lori Lightfoot.

  • Charlie Beck is expected to serve while a formal search for a full-time replacement for outgoing CPD Supt. Eddie Johnson is conducted.
  • Johnson made the emotional announcement yesterday that he was retiring as the city's top cop.

Fred Rogers' widow, Joanne Rogers is thrilled with the upcoming film, A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood.

  • She said "One of the most wonderful things about this film is that Tom Hanks is playing Fred Rogers, Fred was a huge fan of Tom".
  • She says the film is a “fabulous tribute to Fred”, who she was married to for 51 years.
  • Critics say "There’s a wonderful energy about the film and that it’s a very needful film right now." The movie is out in 2 weeks!
