Actress Viola Davis will play Michelle Obama in a Showtime series called First Ladies

  • The focus of the first season, which will "peel back the curtain on the personal and political lives of Obama, Eleanor Roosevelt and Betty Ford." 
  • The other two main characters have not yet been cast.

The number of deaths from the coronavirus has spiked in recent days, bringing the total to at least 563.

  • The spread of the disease is starting to cause worry for Tokyo, which will host the Summer Olympic Games in just a few months.
  • A top official of the Olympic organizing committee said there's concern about not only the spread of the disease but the impact it will have on preparations and enthusiasm leading up to the big event.

President Trump's impeachment trial is over and all but one Republican voted to acquit Trump. 

  • Mitt Romney was the only Republican to vote in favor of convicting Trump – and he became the only senator in history to vote to remove a president from his own party in an impeachment trial.
  • Romney voted “guilty” on article 1, for abuse of power, and “not guilty” on article 2, for obstruction of Congress.
