You Should Never Order Water On An Airplane

What's Up Chicago

November 5, 2019

Katie knows everything happening around the city with 'What's Up Chicago?!'

A new study says water on most U.S. Airlines is unsafe.

  • You should avoid coffee, tea, and even washing your hands.
  • Only three of the 11 major airlines samples were found to serve water safe enough to drink.
  • Alaska Airlines and Allegiant win the top spot with the safest water in the sky, and Hawaiian Airlines finishes at No. 2.

Illinois' largest shopping mall is following the trend of NOT staying open overnight leading into Black Friday.

  • Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg will still open their doors on Thanksgiving Day from 5 pm to midnight but then will close and re-open at 6 am.
  • Gurnee Mills will also have abbreviated Black Friday shopping hours, closing overnight and re-opening at 7 am on Friday.
  • Chicago Premium Outlets in Aurora will not have the abbreviated hours, opening at 6 pm and stay open until 10 pm on Black Friday.

You can soon follow the yellow brick road!

  • Developers in Humboldt Park began building an actual yellow brick road near where Wizard of Oz creator L. Frank Baum dreamed up the classic fairytale.
  • It was 1889 and he lived at 1667 N. Humboldt Blvd.
  • The idea was created to “doing something big” to honor Baum.

In Sports:

  • Last night The Cowboys beat The Giants 37 - 18.
    • The big news was the black cat that delayed the game. It wandered onto the field and no one could catch it. It finally ran off the field and retreated under the stands.

This cat is more elusive than anyone on that field (via @dani_imperiale)
