Maren Morris Shares How 'Girl' Album, World Tour Have Been Going

June 18, 2019

Both 2017 and 2018 were major years for Maren Morris between her engagement to Ryan Hurd and their wedding and her Hero Tour – and 2019 has been no different. In January, Maren Morris released her new single “Girl” and announced her upcoming album of the same name, that was released in March and GIRL: The World Tour, which kicked off right here in Chicago.

Also in March, Maren Morris announced she was forming a supergroup with Brandi Carlile, Amanda Shires, and Natalie Hemby called the Highwomen. The group debuted their upcoming album at an industry event in Nashville earlier in June. The group’s LP will also feature musical guests like Sheryl Crow and Yola.

The GIRL: The World Tour ends in August. From there, Maren Morris will join Miranda Lambert on her Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars Tour that also includes Elle King, the Pistol Annies, Ashley McBryde, Tenille Townes, and Caylee Hammack.

And aside from music news, Maren Morris appeared in Plaboy's upcoming 'Gender & Sexuality' issue out June 18.

After an initial backlash from some, Morris quickly spoke out in an Instagram story, saying in part, "I recently accepted myself and will put these photos in a frame because I’ll never have this moment back. Can’t wait for you to read my interview with Playboy in their ‘Gender + Sexuality’ issue next week. I drop some truth too.”
