The 1st annual Art Show and Auction is happening on Saturday, October 13th from 4:00 - 9:00 pm at Barbara's Bookstore in the The Glen Town Center in Glenview at 2651 Navy Blvd.

About 50 pieces of dazzling artwork by local artists have been donated for you to view and even bid on if you'd like to showcase that piece in your home! Heartland Animal Shelter opened its doors in 2002, and since then has rescued over 10,000 dogs and cats. This no-kill shelter in Northbrook has truly made a positive impact on the lives of homeless and sick pets.

Can't come to the event, but still want to help out? There are lots of ways to help!

  • Adopt! Heartland has tons of dogs and cats, including LOTS of kittens right now all eager to find a forever home.
  • Foster! Can't make a lifetime commitment? Foster an animal temporarily to make more room at the shelter for other homeless animals.
  • Volunteer! Stop by any of their monthly new volunteer orientations and get involved.
  • Donate! Whether you have money to spare, cleaning supplies to share, or food and toys for the pets to enjoy, it all makes a difference.
