Here is how you can "turn off" political ads on Facebook

June 19, 2020

Facebook is going to let people "turn off" political ads.

Facebook announced it will allow people to "turn off seeing" political ads as the 2020 presidential campaigns ramp up in the U.S. ahead of November's elections.

CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the changes in an op-ed for USA Today, saying it was part of the company's efforts "to help 4 million people register to vote."

"You can do this on Facebook or Instagram directly from any political or social issue ad or through each platform’s ad settings. However, we know our system isn’t perfect," Gleit added. "So if you’ve selected this preference and still see an ad that you think is political, please click the upper right corner of the ad and report it to us."
